Autism and Interior Design Connect

teenwolfadEach month donates a portion of every purchase to a different charity or organization. Our mantra is “Interior Design with a Purpose. We all have special needs, especially when it comes to creating a comforting environment in which to live.”

Much thought is put into which organization to highlight each month. It’s a difficult choice and one we take to heart. This month we have chosen GRASP, an organization that focuses on autism.TeenWolfBoard

Their mission is to improve and enrich the lives of adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum and their families, at NO COST to its members. They envision a world where all individuals on the autism spectrum are respected, valued, and fairly represented, where people on the spectrum are empowered to participate in personal decisions that affect their lives.  As the mother of a young adult in the spectrum, reading their mission statement was emotional.

In honor of GRASP’s mission, we’ve created a sensory room board for young adults on the Autistic Spectrum. The room board is based on a television show that my daughter and her peers are obsessed with. It’s called Teen Wolf. The show covers all the necessary bases: blood, love, gorgeous young men and woman and a plot that I still can’t figure out…
